Job Overview
The Centre for Postgraduate Studies at Asia Metropolitan University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer to join our dynamic academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality postgraduate teaching, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to the academic development and administration of postgraduate programs.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:
- Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials at the postgraduate level.
- Develop and update course materials and curricula in line with academic standards and advancements in the field.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress through assignments, exams, and other assessment methods.
- Provide academic support and guidance to postgraduate students, including supervision of dissertations and theses.
Research and Scholarship:
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the body of knowledge in the relevant field.
- Publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present them at conferences.
- Seek research funding and participate in collaborative research projects.
- Stay abreast of current developments in the field and integrate them into teaching and research activities.
Academic Administration:
- Participate in the development and administration of postgraduate programs.
- Contribute to the quality assurance and enhancement processes within the Centre.
- Serve on academic committees and contribute to the governance of the Centre and the wider university.
Community and Professional Engagement:
- Foster relationships with industry, professional bodies, and other academic institutions.
- Participate in outreach activities to promote postgraduate studies and the Centre’s programs.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain expertise in the field
Skills and Experiences
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in postgraduate teaching and supervision.
- A strong track record of research and scholarly publications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum development and academic program administration.
- Proven ability to secure research funding.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations.
