Job Overview
This role is responsible for undertaking the teaching and learning activities of undergraduate students. This includes the designing and delivery of the curriculum and assessment of learning. The job is also responsible for student support and supervision, and involves research and administrative duties in the Faculty of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning in Internal Medicine
- Undertakes teaching and teaching-related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conducts classes/lectures, tutorials, and practical/bedside teaching; consultation with students, invigilation, marking and assessment in Internal Medicine (Year 3 & 5)
- Conducts Clinical Skill training for year 3 & 5 students.
- Participates and contributes to high-quality assurance program and curriculum development.
- Plans and implements teaching strategies to optimise student learning and motivate them.
Student Support & Supervision
- Mentor/ academic supervisor to a group/s of students.
Research
- Participates in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentations, journal publications and relevant community work.
- Supervised the undergraduate students in years 3,4,5 in research evidence-based medicine (REBM).
Administration and Other Activities
- Member of the Internal Medicine unit.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities.
- The professional exam committee first professional, part 1 & 2 final professional exam.
- The internal examiner for the first part 1 of 2 final professional examination.
Clinical services
- Provides clinical/patient care services at KKM facilities as requested by the respective department.
Skills and Experiences
- MBBCh
- Master of Clinical Oncology
- Doctorate of Clinical Oncology
- Registered medical practitioner with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Recognised specialist qualification in Internal Medicine.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate level, including curriculum design and assessment.
- Proven track record in research, publications, and academic contributions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to clinical practice, student development, and professional excellence.
