Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Act as the key leadership figure, taking full responsibility for ensuring all aspects of the College are managed with maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Cultivate an organisational environment that promotes continuous improvement, positioning the college at the forefront of service excellence and operational support.
Financial Sustainability & Operational Efficiency
- Drive the institution’s long-term financial health by optimising fiscal performance and maintaining disciplined oversight of all operational expenditures.
- Lead the drive for operational savings and the acquisition of additional revenue streams to meet efficiency gains and institutional requirements.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness in the use of all available resources, maintaining a sharp focus on operational efficiency across all business units.
Academic Excellence & Innovation
- Continuously elevate the quality of academic provision to enhance student experience, aiming to reduce student withdrawals to a minimal rate.
- Implement data-driven strategies to maximize student progression and minimize student attrition rate.
Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Develop and implement rigorous financial and operational policies, procedures, and internal controls to serve as the definitive framework for departmental management.
- Direct all quality and regulatory activities to ensure continuous certification and total compliance with institutional policies, quality frameworks, and statutory mandates.
Growth & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide support to drive promotional activities, enhance the brand, and achieve high student enrollment numbers.
- Secure new scholarships, sponsorships, and funding sources to enhance student support and institutional resources.
- Direct the institution’s partnership strategy by building sustainable relationships with key industries and regulatory stakeholders to foster collaborative institutional advancement.
- Perform any other ad-hoc assignments as required by the Board or senior management, demonstrating the strategic adaptability necessary to protect and advance institutional interests.
Skills and Experiences
- A master’s degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership and managerial experience in Higher Education. A PHD/Doctorate or equivalent is an advantage.
- Knowledge of budgeting and experience in college day-to-day operations and service improvement across diverse stakeholder groups is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional proficiency relevant to stakeholders in Sarawak or Sabah is an advantage.
- Proven ability to provide visionary leadership and manage high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams. Demonstrates advanced strategic thinking and expert-level analytical skills to resolve complex institutional and operational challenges.
