Clinical Instructor, Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Clinical Instructor (Nursing) to support the clinical education and professional development of nursing students. The successful candidate will play a vital role in bridging classroom learning with real-world clinical practice by supervising students in healthcare settings, ensuring safe and evidence-based patient care, and fostering the clinical competencies required of future nursing professionals.

Working closely with academic staff and clinical partners, you will mentor students throughout their clinical placements, conduct assessments, facilitate bedside teaching, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the faculty’s teaching and learning activities. This role is ideal for an experienced registered nurse who is committed to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals through excellence in clinical education.

Clinical Teaching & Student Supervision

• Supervise nursing students in planning and implementing patient care across various clinical disciplines.
• Guide students in delivering effective, cost-conscious patient care with an emphasis on infection prevention and control.
• Teach and supervise nursing procedures during clinical practice to ensure students achieve the required competencies.
• Conduct bedside teaching sessions aligned with programme learning outcomes.

Skills Laboratory & Teaching Support

• Prepare orientation materials and serve as a preceptor during student orientation programmes.
• Assist academic staff in mock ward teaching sessions and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) preparations.
• Supervise students during skills laboratory practice and ensure completion of clinical logbooks prior to progression.

Assessment & Clinical Administration

• Conduct clinical assessments to ensure students achieve the objectives of each clinical posting.
• Enter clinical assessment marks into the University’s information management system accurately and promptly.
• Prepare and manage clinical rosters for student postings.

Faculty Engagement

• Support lecturers in teaching clinical skills in both laboratory and ward settings.
• Participate in faculty activities, including meetings, open days, and orientation programmes.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Nursing with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• Post-basic qualification is an advantage.
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Must possess own transport for commuting to clinical areas.
