Job Overview
The Clinical Instructor at the Clinical Skills Training Unit under the Laboratory department is responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of clinical skills teaching and simulation-based education for medical, nursing, and allied health students. This role involves facilitating hands-on practical sessions, ensuring competency in essential clinical procedures, and promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical skills sessions according to the academic curriculum.
- Demonstrate procedures (e.g. venipuncture, catheterisation, BLS, physical examination) and supervise student practice.
- Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and best practices during training.
- Set up and operate low- to high-fidelity simulators and task trainers.
- Facilitate scenario-based learning including simulated patients (SPs), moulage, and clinical decision-making drills.
- Assist in planning and conducting Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
- Develop and maintain a simulated clinical environment conducive to effective learning with limited resources.
- Assisted in developing unit policies and procedures to ensure the smoothness of the teaching and learning activities carried out in the CST unit.
- Ensure the safe and measurable precautions are implemented to protect students, equipment and facilities.
- Manage the Clinical Skill Training unit inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet students’ needs.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and inventory of all CST equipment, consumables, and mannequins.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols within the unit.
- Support procurement and maintenance of training equipment and consumables.
- Participate in appropriate campus committees, meetings, projects and activities
Skills and Experiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in nursing sciences.
- Working experience of at least 2-3 years in the clinical and teaching field.
- Broad experience in general healthcare sciences and possesses a teaching methodology certificate.

- Bachelor in Nursing Sciences or related.
