Job Overview

In this role, the Senior Manager, Group Human Resources will be responsible for planning, leading, directing, developing, and coordinating the policies, activities, and staff of the Group Human Resources (GHR) department. This crucial role ensures that the organization’s talent pool is strategically aligned to facilitate group growth within budgetary constraints, while also focusing on legal compliance and implementing the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Strategic leadership, compliance adherence, and ensuring optimal operational performance of the wider group are paramount as we embark on further growth and expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a growing GHR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, coaching, mentorship, and professional development focused on numbers, process improvement, and digitization.
  • Develop and implement GHR policies, programs, and procedures aligned with goals and legal requirements, emphasizing operational efficiency and digitization.
  • Transform recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract top talent, using data-driven approaches and process improvements.
  • Oversee GHR operations including the management of HR systems, the integrity of HR data and compensation and benefits administration.
  • Oversee performance management, conducting evaluations and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Manage employee relations, ensuring compliance with policies and labour laws, and streamlining resolution processes.
  • Oversee staff engagement initiatives to improve workplace culture and employee retention.
  • Execute training programs using technology and innovative methods to enhance skills and career growth.
  • Ensure strict compliance with labour laws, monitoring changes and implementing updates using digital tools and automation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning, utilizing HR team insights and analytics.
  • Provide expert guidance to department heads and managers on HR matters, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices.

Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources management, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and drive business results.
  • Experience managing a diverse workforce in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CIPD) is an advantage.
