Senior Lecturer Paediatric

Duties of Senior Lecturer, Paediatric of UOC include the following:

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in paediatric medicine.
• Supervise and assess medical students, interns, and postgraduate trainees in paediatric clinical settings.
• Design and update course curricula in line with medical education standards.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods, including case-based learning, simulations, and e-learning tools.
• Participate in curriculum development and academic program reviews.

Clinical & Research Responsibilities:

• Engage in clinical teaching at affiliated hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Supervise students during ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency paediatric care.
• Conduct research in paediatric medicine and contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Seek research funding and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
• Guide students in research projects, dissertations, and case studies.
• Administrative & Professional Development:
• Contribute to faculty committees, academic planning, and institutional policies.
• Participate in faculty development programs, workshops, and medical conferences.
• Maintain active membership in professional paediatric associations.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career development.

• Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in related field with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience. Having a Post Basic is an added advantage;
• Have a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC);
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Able to work effectively and efficiently as a team member as well as independently;
• Able to communicate effectively and work with the management and other staff;
• Possess own transport to be able to commute to students’ clinical area.
