Job Overview

As the Director of Student Recruitment at the University of Cyberjaya, you will lead strategic initiatives to drive enrollment growth and ensure alignment with institutional goals. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will oversee Malaysian and international student recruitment efforts, manage budgets, analyze market trends, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the university’s recruitment strategies, fostering efficiency in the enrollment process, and contributing to the institution’s overall success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and oversee the Malaysian Student Recruitment (MSR), Regional Recruitment Centers (UCRCs), International Student Recruitment (ISR), and International Student Arrival Unit (ISAU).
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic plans aligned with the institution’s goals.
  • Evaluate and optimize the department’s budget, operational efficiency, and team structure for continual improvement and increased effectiveness.
  • Oversee budgets and work plans of various student recruitment departments, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and assess competitors’ activities in assigned regions.
  • Provide strategic guidance and innovative ideas to the team for effective marketing strategies to meet enrollment targets.
  • Monitor lead management efficiency, lead generation cost, and conversion rates across all teams.
  • Collaborate with the Group Corporate Communication and Marketing Communications team to design and execute attractive marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the admissions team to streamline the enrollment process and enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare regular reports and conduct monthly review meetings to assess the performance of all Regional Recruitment Centers.
  • Manage and govern various agents and partners involved in student recruitment activities.
  • Actively participate in various management meetings to provide insights and updates on student recruitment activities and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with at least 7 years of managerial experience in higher education or a relevant industry.
  • Extensive background in student recruitment, admissions, or a related field, showcasing comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
  • Proficiency in understanding and implementing trends and best practices in student recruitment and higher education.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, marketing, and management, with a track record of successful implementation and achievement of objectives.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present ideas, collaborate with teams, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability for creative and strategic thinking, coupled with sound judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and influence others towards shared goals.
  • Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with fluency in spoken and written communication.
